Really, I am proud to be a teacher. Teaching profession is a sacred one. Only the man of serene mind can realize the spiritual meaning of life. The person who knows the meaning of life is teacher. Teacher alone can offer good education to the students.
What is good education? Dr. Radhakrishnan said, “The end-product of education should be a free creative man who can battle against historical circumstances and adversities of nature”. Teacher is appreciated as a good teacher if they are able to produce meritorious students. Is it a mile stone for determining teacher to be a good teacher? No, as Abdul Kalam said, “Teacher should light the lamp in the life of students”.
The students of today are going to be the adult citizens of tomorrow and be at the helm of affairs of the nation. Therefore, it is very important for the teacher to mould the students right from the beginning so that they might grow up into responsible and disciplined adults. Some teachers think that education should be job-oriented. Teachers who are able to produce lawyers, doctors, Engineers are considered to be a good teacher but not the best teacher. Then, who is the best teacher? One who is ever in the heart and mind of the students is the best teacher. The best teacher does not teach his subject in isolation but relates it to life around him and thus sets values and standards. The best teacher or an ideal teacher should lay emphasis on moral and spiritual education.
All teachers are millionaire in the sense that they win the heart of many students. Teachers are proud when their students recognize them and wish them even after their retirement. Teachers are ladders. They are delighted on seeing their students twinkling in the sky. I too experienced such a pleasant moment. I am thankful to my management VINAYAGA SONNY GROUP of Industries for being given an opportunity to be the Principal and to render valuable services to the student’s society. Our management helps by all means to bring the school to be a model school. Our school is started with 38 students. Now our school has a strength of 1281 student. We have a very well-equipped science laboratory, large play grounds, well stocked library and so on.
We also have many extra-curricular activities, which enliven our routine work of academic work. Some of these activities are music, dance, karate, yoga, knitting work, art & craft, chess and so on.
I would say that our school is worthy of praise in upholding high standards of discipline, academics and extra-curricular activities. However, I can happily claim our school to be different from the other schools.
